We have demonstrated that this instrumentation offers equivalent measures of induced and evoked neuro-electrical responses to stimuli compared to our current system design as well as:
~ offering improved dynamic range (up to and including 8 nT shifts in background field)
~ gathering data during large participant movement (including a sitting-to-standing paradigm)
~ compatibility with simultaneous EEG recording
We even carried our system in a suitcase on the Eurostar to perform validation experiments with our collaborators at Hopital Erasme in Brussels!
Overall, our new system represents a significant step forward for OPM-MEG and offers an extremely attractive platform for next generation functional medical imaging.
